Note 1: The HCD number ranges 0009XX and
00090XX are being replaced by 0866 XXXXX. New numbers will be issued as 0866 XXXXX and TNZ
will discuss with each carrier migration of existing numbers. Note 2: Access to IFS numbers (including UIFNs) and HCD numbers from payphones is barred by default (as from 1 April 2005). Access is available by bilateral agreement with each partner carrier and may require the use of the multiple-routing-number method. Note 3: Alphanumerics (or "vanity" numbers) are widely promoted in New Zealand. The standard ITU keypad is used. Your customers can safely advertise their ITFS numbers and UIFNs in New Zealand as alphanumerics. Note 4: Directory listings Your customers with IFS numbers in New Zealand may arrange to have them listed in one or more of New Zealands 18 regional telephone directories. Once a number is listed, it will be available on Telecom New Zealands Directory Assistance service (reached by New Zealand callers dialling 018) and on Telecom New Zealands Internet White Pages (to be found at www.whitepages.co.nz), but the number will only be listed under whichever city or cities the customer choses to list the number under in the regional telephone directory. Charges for the listing vary depending on which regional directory is chosen and the size of the listing. Your customers will need to arrange this listing themselves directly with Telecom Directories Limited by telephoning +64 9 525 3430. Information about the charges is also available from this number. Note 5: Portability TNZ has agreed with two other carriers to introduce a limited form of domestic toll-free portability. Toll-free numbers are still allocated to carriers in blocks of 10,000 numbers. However, the three carriers have agreed to make their allocated number ranges available to each other, enabling portability between the carriers party to the agreement. |
